Eligibility Requirements:
The 1SG P. Andrew McKenna, Jr. Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating High School
Senior in Rhode Island. The applicant must be a legal U.S. Citizen, a resident of the State of Rhode Island,
who has been accepted into an accredited two or four year college or university as a full time student. He
or she must have demonstrated academic excellence with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
The applicant must also
meet one or more of the following criteria:
- A member of the JROTC / ROTC
- A member of their High School Track/Cross Country Team for at least 2 years
- Has a parent/guardian, grandparent or sibling who is actively serving in the U.S. Armed Forces
- Has a parent/guardian, grandparent or sibling who served honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces.
All applicants must include one letter of recommendation from a Head Coach, Assistant Coach or
teacher that details your character as a person and/or an athlete.
