How To Enter:

Have fun winning extra money to help pay college expenses while testing your knowledge of financial topics related to paying for college, credit, and budgeting. RISLA’s Knowledge for College Scholarship provides a chance for Rhode Island Residents and/or students attending a college or university in Rhode Island to win scholarship funds.

Eligibility Requirements:
Student is a Rhode Island resident or student from any 
state attending a college or university in Rhode Island; and is accepted for and provides validation of enrollment at nationally accredited 2-year or 4-year, university, or postsecondary proprietary school when the scholarship is awarded.

The Rhode Island Foundation, the largest and most comprehensive funder of nonprofit organizations in Rhode Island, manages more than 150 scholarship and fellowship funds. We offer assistance for middle school to post-graduate levels, certificate programs, and a variety of fields of study and interest areas.

Dozens of generous individual, family, and organizational donors have established scholarship funds with us to help students like you defray educational expenses such as tuition, fees, and books.

In addition to general scholarship assistance, the Foundation offers a number of awards for students studying everything from social work and the arts to textile technology and filmmaking.

The Beauty + Wellness Scholarship

The Beauty + Wellness Scholarship is for Women and each quarter they award $1,000 and a care package filled with healthy organic goodies to young women who are striving to maintain their health and wellness as they pursue their higher education goals.

Here is a brief summary of the eligibility requirements:

Award: $1,000

Quarterly Deadlines: January 1, March 31st, June 30th, and September 30th every year

Eligibility:

  • Must be a graduating high school senior, current college undergraduate, or current graduate student at a 4-year, 2-year, vocational, or technical school in the United States.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Must identify as female.

Redfin Scholarship

Scholarship Details This $2,500 scholarship is a way for Redfin to help one student on his or her journey through higher education. We are looking forward to reading each submission! To apply, in 800 words or less, answer the following question: "When the population of a city grows, low-income people are often forced to move to more affordable areas outside of the city. Many initiatives have been proposed or implemented to keep affordable housing within city limits. Identify one such initiative and discuss its pros and cons."

How to Apply The scholarship application period will occur twice yearly with awards delegated in both the Spring and Fall. The Spring application period is from November 1-January 31 of each year. The Fall application period is from May 1-July 31 of each year. Complete the following form within the designated application periods.

Tuition Break for RI Residents

The program is relevant to students who find that their intended program of study is not offered by the University of Rhode Island, Rhode Island College or the Community College of Rhode Island. The Regional Student Program provides a tuition break to Rhode Island residents, who are enrolled in approved degree programs at public colleges and universities in the five other New England states.
